quintana, "abc 7 news". >> dan: right on both counts. john alston continues live in downtown napa. we have been watching the river for days, how does it look tonight? >> reporter: it's fine right now after a day of rain it's stopped for the time being. behind me is a bloated napa river but well within the banks. this area is very saturated. the storm has brought some flooding in wine country. water overtopped a levee along sonoma creek where it borders the larsen family winery and this year the creek has been especially high. water is continuing to flood into a portion of the 70 acres of chardonay vines. vineyard looks more like a like in some areas. this is both good and bad. >> its nuisance but not a bad. it's good for the ground and agriculture and recharge our groundwater. it's a pain, you can see there are trees and logs and basketballs and whatever comes down the creek is what we get. >> reporter: he says it cost about $10,000 over year to remove all of that junk once the rainy season ends. they plan to rebuild the levee but that temporary solution when the air goes into flood. we're

for napa, hayward, oakland, san francisco today and downtown, only at 48 degrees. sonoma, you only hit 46. one of the cooler christmases we've had in a while. the reason we have the cool front pushing through, breezy, notice all the yellow and red. the heaviest return now pushing off to the east and moving from the bay area towards the sierra where heavy snow will fall. wet, breedsy at times overnight tonight for the first half of tomorrow. then that front is gone. for one day, again, only one day, we'll dry out with high pressure building in thursday, looks mainly dry before another rain maker moves in for friday and saturday. just some showers out there over the weekend. but saturday looks to be the wetter day of our two-day weekend. soaking rainfall possible through tonight. slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm. we saw reports of small hail in south santa clara county. rainfall ending by tomorrow afternoon and we get that break before the rain moves back. highs too many, mid-50s. lots of you heading back to the mall to return the gifts you got today. look the at highs in the low 5
